Apprentice Pipe Fitter

Requirements:
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a KY DOW Drinking Water Treatment & Distribution License Class III or higher.
  • Previous experience in water distribution system maintenance is desirable.
  • Previous experience in backhoe, trackhoe, heavy equipment operation is desirable.v
  • Must have the ability of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting (up to 100 lbs.)
  • Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to be on-call and accessible at all hours to accept callouts after regular working hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Interpersonal Relationship Skills– Positive Attitude, Cooperative, Respectful working relationship with ALL Employees & Departments, Organizations, Contractors, and the PUBLIC.
  • Professional Attitude-Commitment to Organization, Initiative, Dependability, and Standard of High Quality of Work.
  • Technical knowledge and capability-utilize and work to improve MEWS Mapping System-Proactively Plan and improve the Distribution System(s).
  • Technical knowledge and capability to utilize, MDM, AMI, Prepay, and SCADA to perform job duties, minimize water loss, outages, and improve customer service.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA & MEWS Safety Standards/Requirements and willing to uphold & promote them within Department and Company.
  • Physical examination including drug screening will be required of successful candidate.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a background check.
  • In accordance with KRS 96.740 applicant must not be related within the third degree to any member of the Electric Plant Board or to the Mayor of the City of Mayfield or to any member of the Mayfield City Council.
