24-hour emergency service is offered for electric, water, and sewer emergencies occurring after our regular office hours by calling 270-247-3531.
Whenever service call requests are received after regular office hours, on weekends, or holidays, a fee of not less than $75 may be charged if the trouble is not the responsibility of MEWS.

Home Inspections Policy
The Home Inspector must make his request in person at the main office of Mayfield Electric & Water Systems to have any service (electric/water/etc) turned on at a residence or place of business in order to inspect the wiring/plumbing for leaks or defects.
This request must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and will only be done during MEWS’ normal business hours.>
Any problems or damages to the property that arise as a result of turning on the service at the request of a Home Inspector or any other entity will be the sole responsibility of the property owner or his representative.
Mayfield Electric & Water assumes no responsibility and will require a $25.00 payment in advance.
There are many ways in which Mayfield Electric & Water Systems and TVA can help you use electricity more efficiently and cost-effectively. The way your business uses power may help determine the rate you pay for that power and lower your costs. Depending on your business circumstances and power use, you may be eligible for some of these rate options.
SIC-qualified customers who can curtail load quickly during periods of high demand may be eligible for the Flat Price Interruptible Power option. The customer must have electric load above 1,000 kilowatts.
The Small Manufacturing Credit offers significant power cost savings to qualifying manufacturers. This option helps small manufacturers remain viable by offering credits when demand for a month exceeds 1,000 kW.
The Enhanced Growth Credit Program provides substantial credits on power bills to qualifying companies that locate or expand in the Tennessee Valley. Eligibility is determined by SIC code, type of power used, and kilowatt usage.
The Tennessee Valley Security Deposit Program Businesses gives qualifying businesses an alternative to tying up valuable capital. Businesses with an average monthly billing of more than 50 kilowatts may have their security deposit waived or refunded.
A Levelized Billing Plan is provided for any residential customer who has lived at his present location for at least 12 months and wishes to receive his monthly utility bill spread evenly over a twelve month period (all billed services will be included).
Customers desiring to be billed under the Levelized Billing Plan may enter into the plan at any time during the year provided they have lived at their present location for at least 12 months. Application may be made at our main office or you may print the Levelized Bill Payment Plan Form, fill it out, and mail it to our main office.
An after-hours depository is provided at our main office for making payments after regular office hours.

Wastewater Adjustments
Adjustments For Leaks
Mayfield Electric & Water Systems allows one sewer adjustment per calendar year for unavoidable water leaks sustained by our customers. Since the water from this leak often does not enter the sewer system, we will adjust one monthly sewer bill to a normal amount.
Adjustments For Pools
Mayfield Electric & Water Systems allows one sewer adjustment per calendar year for the filling of pools by our customers. Since this water does not enter the sewer system, we will adjust one monthly sewer bill.
To receive a sewer adjustment for filling a pool, you must contact MEWS at our main office during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) BEFORE and AFTER filling your pool.
A MEWS representative will come to your home and read your meter to determine the amount of water used to calculate your adjustment.
Pools must be equipped with complete filtering systems to be eligible for sewer adjustments.
Mayfield Electric & Water Systems allows one sewer adjustment per calendar year for the filling of pools by our customers. Since this water does not enter the sewer system, we will adjust one monthly sewer bill. Customers must use a minimum of 4,000 gallons to be eligible for the sewer adjustment.
